Blueprint Genetics is a Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) company based in Helsinki, Finland. We are a team of more than 50+ professionals running an accredited clinical laboratory providing genetic diagnostics for professional clinical use. Our current diagnostic portfolio includes over 400 tests that cover rare hereditary disorders in 14 medical specialties. We work with over 300 clinics in over 30 countries. Our aim is to develop a wide range of NGS applications for genomic medicine, allowing us to and continue to expand our operations globally.
NGS applications produce large quantities of data, requiring highly efficient computing infrastructure and data analysis pipelines. To meet the challenges imposed by our rapidly expanding diagnostic services, the integration and optimisation of local and cloud-based IT systems used to manage the various types of data generated along the production process is of paramount importance. To help us continue our efforts in streamlining our clinical diagnostic solutions into the most powerful, accurate, robust and fast in the business, we are looking for a computer scientist with interest and experience in both hardware and software architecture and integration.
The ideal candidate has experience from system integration through the use and/or development of API:s, has thorough knowledge of the UNIX environment and has experience with interface design and web application development. In addition, knowledge and experience in interface design and relational databases, high performance computing and/or cloud computing would be beneficial. Since Blueprint Genetics is a highly international working environment, good skills in spoken and written English language are a necessity. The ability to work independently in a team environment is highly valued as well as multi-tasking skills and flexibility with tasks and schedules.
As a member of the Informatics team at Blueprint Genetics you will join a small group of highly motivated and skilled professionals in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment and face a variety of challenging work tasks, including:
- Integration of communication between cloud-based and local IT systems
- Optimization and management of UNIX-based server environments
- Development of web-interfaces to databases and other data sources
Required education: Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent
Full stack development, high performance computing, Web-interface development, cloud computing, Perl, Python.
