We offer an option for express service for our Cardiology NGS panels for clinical cases where genetic information is needed faster than within our normal turnaround time of 21 days. For ordering Express service for panels in other specialties, contact our customer support.
In this process, the sample is prioritized in the sequencing phase and also in the analysis process by our team of geneticists and clinicians. The statement is based on high-quality variants identified by OS-Seq™ and will be provided within 10 days after sample arrival. Additional costs are included in these high priority samples.
Samples ordered as Express Service will be prioritized in the workflow enabling faster turn-around-time. The only difference to our normal protocol is that in this service the primary statement is given based on the next-generation sequencing (NGS) results only. This is possible through our rigorous validation and established experience with our OS-Seq™ technology. The statement is given within 10 days after sample arrival. The statement is based on high-quality variants where clinical interpretation is possible without additional confirmatory processes.
After submitting the express statement, we will continue with the standard protocol with Sanger sequence confirmation of clinically relevant variants (likely pathogenic and pathogenic) and provide a follow-up report within 21 days. If the NGS phase produces conflicting results where clinical interpretation cannot reliably be made before Sanger confirmation such as identification of potential disease-causing variants with low-quality calls in NGS, the Express Service is considered failed and the analysis will be finalized in our routine diagnostic pipeline and no additional costs will be charged. When Express Service is unsuccessful, we will send an email notice for the ordering customer. The price for our Express Service can be viewed in our price list.
