Geneticist position – Blueprint Genetics

Blueprint Genetics (BpG) is looking for a highly motivated and exceptional geneticist or clinical geneticist for a full-time position, starting 1st of April 2014 or as negotiated.

BpG is a Next Generation Sequencing start-up company based in Helsinki, Finland. We are a team of eleven professionals running a clinical grade laboratory providing genetic diagnostics for professional use. Our current diagnostic portfolio includes tests for hereditary cardiovascular, neurological and kidney diseases. Currently we work with nearly 30 clinics internationally. Our aim is to develop a wide range of different NGS applications for clinical medicine and expand our operations.

An ideal candidate has wide experience in clinical genetic research or genetic diagnostics. Experience in next generation sequencing is highly regarded. We offer challenging work in a very skilled and motivated team of physicians, geneticists, bioinformaticians and DNA biologists.

Your key responsibilities will include analyzing sequencing results and preparing clinical interpretations and statements with our team of physicians. We also expect you to contribute to the development of bioinformatics pipeline and automatized interpretations system together with our geneticist and bioinformaticians.

Master’s Degree is required, PhD or MD Degree preferred. You should have a degree in genetics or specialization in clinical genetics.


Minimum Experience: 3 years of clinical or genetic research laboratory experience. Experience in clinical genetic diagnostics is highly regarded. Laboratory experience with next generation sequencing platforms, genomic analysis, and associated informatics and computational skills are beneficial. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
