Inborn Errors of Immunity: The Growing Role of Genetics
Webinar information
Date: December 16, 2019
Time: 12:00 PM EST / 18:00 PM CET
Duration: 1 hour
Speaker: Géraldine Gosse

It is well documented that genetic testing can change medical management and lead to more appropriate treatment options. This is especially true for the heterogenous group of primary immunodeficiencies. Our genetic knowledge of these inborn errors of immunity is growing rapidly.

Recognizing the early symptoms of this patient population and identifying the underlying molecular cause can be challenging but can have a direct impact on long term outcomes. In this webinar, Géraldine Gosse from the Montreal Clinical Research Institute will review the vast spectrum of inborn errors of immunity and how a multidisciplinary team is advantageous to diagnosis and treatment.

Objectives:

  • Examine the warning signs of an inborn error of immunity
  • Review the diagnostic workup of patients with inborn errors of immunity with a focus on genetic testing
  • Discuss the multidisciplinary approach to care for this patient population
